Finland born, Maija is a graduate of the University of Oulu, Finland in International Master of Education program. She has studied Interior Design at the International School of Colour and Design, Australia.

Maija has taught in International Schools around the world for over 15 years including United Nations International School in Hanoi and New York.
Maija is running workshops on professional development for students, teachers, and parents about learning spaces and their impact on learning, and is engaged in consultation on learning spaces with several schools across the Asia Pacific region.
